Kambia beach, also spelled Kampia is a less well known beach and lies on the western end of the south coast of
Santorini, it's around 15km from the capital
Fira and that's about a half an hours drive.
Like most beaches on the island, Kambia is made up of mainly pebbles with some larger stones at the shore line so beach shoes are recommended as it can be uncomfortable to walk on.
Kambia is a relatively quiet beach that's surrounded by white cliffs and offers lovely views of the lighthouse at Faros as well as Red Beach. It has a handful of sun loungers and umbrellas available as well as a taverna offering food and drink to keep you refreshed throughout the day. There's not a lot else though, no water sports, no pedalos and
it is easily accessible via road and has some parking available, mainly where the road meets the beach but also on the roadside itself.
If you’re feeling adventurous it is possible to walk from Kambia to
Red Beach but it takes about 30 minutes and a bit of climbing over loose stones.
