Perivolos beach lies on the south east coast of
Santorini, it's just 12km from the capital
Fira and that's around a 20 minute drive.
It's a long beach at well over a kilometre but merges with
Perissa beach to the north and
Agios Georgios beach to the south meaning you could walk for hours from one to the other if you wanted to.
Perivolos beach has hundreds of sun loungers available to hire, grouped together in little clusters around boarded walkways, these are usually placed out the front of each taverna so you can easily go and get refreshments throughout the day.
Young adults will love Perivolos beach as there’s an upbeat feel to it with the beach bars playing music that can be quite lively, an excellent choice of water sports as well as a beach volleyball net and plenty of tavernas for a drink or a bite to eat.
Perivolos beach can get quite busy around the bars but as it’s such a large beach there’s plenty of space if you move away from the bars a bit. As you'd expect, it's made up of the usual black sand and pebbles that's common in Santorini.
There’s parking available on the road that runs along the back of the beach, there’s also hotels and restaurants along the road too.
