Troulos is a laid-back and relatively quiet resort on the southern end of the island of
Skiathos. It’ll take you about 15 minutes to make the drive from
Skiathos Town or 20 minutes from the airport. If you don’t have a hire car then there are 3 bus stops in Troulos, 18,19 and 20 where you can pick up the bus and head north east to Skiathos town or west towards Koukounaries.
There’s no village centre that you would normally have in a Greek resort but there are a few shops, restaurants and bars spread out in the area including a cash machine and a vehicle hire shop too.
Troulos is particularly good for families with kids due to the sheltered beaches and wealth of beach activities to keep them entertained. You might have to go up to Skiathos Town to keep them happy in the evenings though depending on their age.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Troulos page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
The night life in Troulos is based around having a nice evening meal and a few drinks, there is a Karaoke bar and some bars and hotels offer cocktails but that’s probably as lively as it gets.
Troulos is meant for people who want a slower paced break with days at the beach or round the pool and a nice meal with good company. If you want something more up beat then you can head up to Skiathos Town.
Troulos is based around an impressive bay where you’ll find
Troulos beach which is a gorgeous sandy beach with tavernas and water sports to keep everyone entertained. There are also a number of other impressive beaches to choose from in the area.
If you plan to explore the north coast beaches as well as going up to Skiathos town then Troulos could be a great option as it’s perfectly positioned to get round the entire island, either on the bus or with your own vehicle.
