Agia Paraskevi

Agia Paraskevi, also known as Platanias is a fairly small resort, similar to Achladies, with a good selection of hotels, a picturesque bay and a lovely beach. It’s located towards the south of Skiathos island at bus stop 16, just west of the kalamaki peninsular.

Kanapitsa

Kanapitsa is a beautiful peninsula towards the south of Skiahtos down at bus stop 12. It's around 6km from the capital Skiathos Town which is a short 10-15 minute drive. Kanapitsa has a quiet and relaxed feel with a few tavernas scattered about.

Kolios

Kolios is on the south of Skiathos island, just west of the Kalamaki peninsula and around 6.5km to the capital Skiathos Town. Kolios has a lovely beach, a couple of shops and tavernas as well as a handful of hotels so you’ve got everything you need.

Koukounaries

The village of Koukounaries is much smaller than you'd expect being connected to such a popular beach, it's basically a single main road that has a number of restaurants, supermarkets and other facilities dotted along it, there's not much nightlife though.

Megali Ammos

Megali Ammos is within walking distance of the islands capital Skiathos Town and the name literally means "big beach" so it's easy to see why it's a popular place to stay. The beach is about a kilometre long, it's narrow and a mix of shingle and soft sand.

Skiathos Town

Skiathos Town is the main harbour for the island and capital of Skiathos. This will be the best place to stay for a lot of people travelling to Skiathos. It offers plenty of bars and restaurants for the evenings and is on the main road so it’s easy to get about.

Troulos

Troulos is a laid-back and relatively quiet resort on the southern end of Skiathos. It’s based around an impressive bay and has a number of quality beaches to choose from. There's no village centre but there are a few shops, restaurants and bars in the area.

Vassilias

Vassilias is a relaxed resort tucked into the Skiathos hillside, it's part way between Skiathos Town and the Kalamaki peninsula. Vassilias is at bus stop 8 so you can catch the bus north to the capital or south to the other resorts and beaches.

Achladies

Achladies isn't really a village as such, it's more just a collection of hotels and apartments with a couple of beach side tavernas, a couple of supermarkets, a bar and a bakery. It's not far from Skiathos town which you can reach easily by water taxi or bus.

Krifi Ammos

Krifi Ammos beach is on the west coast, it's a relatively unknown and unspoiled beach, especially when compared to the south coast. The beach itself is just under 200m wide, there's rocks at both ends and the beach is backed by hills and trees.
