Acharavi is a long sandy beach with pebble patches, situated on the north coast of
Corfu. It’s about 40km, which is around an hours drive from the capital
Kerkyra.
Getting to Acharavi is simple, there’s a number of roads that lead down between the hotels and tavernas from the main road that goes through the town of
Acharavi. Parking is available on the roadside or at one of the small parking areas just behind the beach.
Acharavi beach doesn’t get too crowded but it’s certainly not deserted. It’s mainly used by those people staying in the town of the same name, it’s mostly popular around the hotels and tavernas that fringe the beach.
The water at Acharavi is shallow for a good distance out and usually calm making it great for kids, providing they have some beach shoes to protect their feet from the uncomfortable pebbles if there are any in the area.
There are plenty of shops and cafes that line the edge of the beach making it easy to get food, drink and beach toys if required. There are water sports to keep thrill seekers entertained and umbrellas and sunbeds available to hire for those that prefer a calmer day at the beach.
Due to the length of the beach it’s a great place to go for an early morning or late evening walk or a simple stroll along the sand during the day.
