The long golden sand beach at Agios Gordios stretches for 1.5km and lies roughly in the middle of the island on the west coast. It’ll take you about half an hour to make the 17km trip to or from the capital
Kerkyra by car.
It’s easy to visit Agios Gordios beach due to it’s location and the free parking just behind the beach. There is also accommodation available in
Agios Gordios village if you would prefer to spend your entire holiday here instead of just visiting.
Agios Gordios Beach has crystal clear water as well as a plethora of facilities. Those facilities include sunbeds and umbrellas, boat or canoe hire and snorkelling equipment is available as well. Teens and young at heart adults will be entertained all day as there are tons of water sports available on the beach too.
The only thing to look out for at Agios Gordios beach is the strong currents that sometimes affect the west coast beaches. If you do plan to visit and have kids, make sure they stay in the shallows or have a strong swimmer with them at all times just to be safe.
Agios Gordios beach is sometimes used by naturists, usually in the separate bay just past the rocks at the end of the regular beach.
