Agios Stephanos beach, sometimes called San Stefanos, is located on the north west corner of
Corfu island about 35km from the capital
Kerkyra.
The beach is huge, over a mile long and wide too, it has soft sand and shallow water making it perfect for little ones. It also means that although the beach is popular it never feels crowded and you’ll easily find a bit of space to call your own.
You may find that Agios Stephanos has strong waves on certain days, this makes swimming in the sea more fun but also means you need to keep an eye on weak swimmers. It also means that seaweed is washed up due to the currents, the beach vendors tend to clear it regularly but not always completely.
There’s a harbour at one end of the beach where you can rent a boat, there’s also water sports to keep you entertained and a number of tavernas that rent out good quality, cushioned sunbeds as well as serving delicious food and drinks.
Parking is available in various places around the rear of the beach as well as on the side of the roads that lead to the beach.
