Ermones is a sand and pebble beach on the west coast of
Corfu directly in line with
Kerkyra, it’s around half an hours drive from the capital.
The beach is surrounded by dramatic lush green hills making this a pleasant place to spend a day or two. The hills also mean that it doesn’t get too windy and the sea remains calm which is great for weaker swimmers. There are some rocks around the entrance to the water and the water does get deep quickly a little way out so just keep this in mind with youngsters. The deeper waters do make for great snorkelling opportunities though.
The beach has sunbeds available in the wider section as well as parking on the roadside above the beach. There are a couple of tavernas serving delicious food and drinks. There’s also Pedalos and small boats available to hire as well as showers and toilets too.
For those that like to walk you can make your way up to the small chapel that overlooks the beach, it’s just short of 1km and gives lovely views of the bay.
