Kavos beach is a 2km stretch of sandy beach on the south coast of
Corfu. It’s around 50km from the capital
Kerkyra and that would take you around an hour and fifteen minutes to make the trip in a car.
Kavos beach is part of
Kavos town which is the main 18-30 resort on the island so, as you might expect it offers a range of activities to keep the usual young visitors entertained. These include water sports like jet skis, banana boats and doughnut rings as well as other activities like bungee jumping and a bungee catapult.
As Kavos is a popular tourist area so is the beach, however as the beach is huge it doesn’t actually feel crowded. Along the length of the beach you’ll find loads of tavernas and bars and these are the establishments that rent out the sunbeds. Some also play music in the area of their sun loungers, some offer table service and there are even beach parties that run well into the night.
Due to the type of people that stay in Kavos, you’ll likely find the beach quieter in the mornings, when party goers are still recovering in bed and gets busier as the day goes on. You’ll also notice a few people sleeping off hangovers on the beach during the day too.
Getting to Kavos beach is no problem as you can simply follow the signs for Kavos town and park up at the side of the main road or along one of the side roads that head down to the beach from the main road.
