There are actually two beaches in the Nissaki area, a tiny one and a much larger one, both are located in the north east of
Corfu island between
Barbati and
Kassiopi. This page is about the larger of the two, click here for information on
small Nissaki beach.
Large Nissaki lies slightly north east of small Nissaki and it’s a long but fairly narrow shingle and pebble beach which is home to a few places to stay including the
Nissaki Bay Hotel and the
Krouzeri beach apartments as well as others. The hotels offer trendy seating areas, sun loungers as well as table service for your food and drink.
At the other end of the beach there’s a taverna and water sports available to keep the young and the young at heart entertained. This is also where the steps are to get to and from the road above where you would have parked the car if you’re not staying at one of the hotels.
Although Nissaki isn’t that popular with tourists travelling round the island it does get busy due to the amount of people in the hotels that use the beach. the west side of the beach is quieter as it’s away from the largest hotels but you do get the odd boat coming and going from the jetty.
Large Nissaki is fine for kids but as it’s stones rather than sand it might be worth getting some beach shoes to protect delicate feet and also best to stay away from the Jetty if your kids are very young.
