There are actually two beaches in the Nissaki area, a tiny one and a much larger one, both are located in the north east of
Corfu island between
Barbati and
Kassiopi. This page is about the smaller of the two, click here for information on
large Nissaki beach.
The smaller of the two Nissaki beaches is a tiny pebble beach with some large rocks around the edges and looks like it was cut out of the rock face. There’s a single taverna perched on the rocks above which makes the area the perfect spot to enjoy the fantastic views, grab a bit of lunch and then take a dip in the crystal clear waters below.
Small Nisskai is good for kids as it’s a sheltered bay so there’s not too much current or winds, the water shelves gently but does get deep so just make sure they stay in the shallows. Water shoes are advisable if you don’t like walking on stones but the lack of sand means the water is unbelievably clear.
There are a small number of sunbeds available to hire and parking is easy on the roadside. Also in the area is a scuba diving school and boat hire companies so there’s plenty to keep you active.
Although the smaller Nissaki is not a popular tourist beach don’t expect quiet seclusion, the simple fact that it’s so small means that it can feel crowded even with just a handful of people there.
