Agios Nikolaos is a small village in the south east of
Corfu island just south of
Petriti. It’s around a 30km drive to the capital
Kerkyra and that’ll take you about an hour in the car.
The village is set on a hill but the land around is fairly flat and most of the residents work in agriculture as there’s virtually no tourism in the village.
Like most of the southern end of the island it’s very quiet, with minimal facilities. There’s no hotels in the village itself but there are some available in the surrounding areas.
Agios Nikolaos isn’t going to be somewhere that most people would want to stay for extended periods of time but if you’re looking for a small village away from the crowds then Agios Nikolaos could be a good escape for a few hours.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Agios Nikolaos page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
nightlife in Agios Nikolaos is virtually non-existent. you wont find any late night bars or other entertainment so if that's something you want then you'd have to look else where.
Other villages in the region are Petriti,
Lefkimmi,
Agios Georgios South and
Messoghi so check those out to see if the nightlife there is something you might enjoy.
Agios Nikolaos is a fair distance from the main attractions on the island which are mostly in the north or around the capital.
There are some places you can visit though, why not check out
Halikounas beach to try some kite surfing or
Lake Korission to enjoy some wildlife. Alternatively, if you want to party it’s only 20 minutes from
Kavos.
