Avlaki is a relatively unknown village that lies just south of
Kassiopi on the north east coast of
Corfu. It’s around 35km from the capital
Kerkyra so that would take you just over an hour to make the drive.
Avlaki is more of a collection of hotels and villas rather than a resort as there isn’t much in the way of tourist facilities. There’s no shops, no car rental or tourist information facilities. There’s one taverna on the beach but nothing in the village.
The main attraction to Avlaki is the long and beautiful bay that it’s based around, it’s a picturesque place with mainly shingle underfoot and clean, crystal clear water.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Avlaki page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
As mentioned, there's no clubs or late night bars as Avlaki is more of a slower paced holiday destination.
If you want a destination with more entertainment then look elsewhere or plan for a few day trips to the other villages like Kassiopi or even Kerkyra.
Avlaki is recommended for those that want a quiet break, away from the crowds that you’d find in the usual tourist resorts. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do though, there’s a sailing centre on the beach where you can learn to sail or windsurf.
If you enjoy walking then there's either the coastal or olive grove roads to nearby Kassiopi which will take around half an hour.
Also near by is Agios Stefanos which is another pretty village and definitely worth a visit, either for the day or just for a few hours. It would take around 45 minutes on foot or just under 10 minutes in a car or taxi.
