Kontokali is a spread out village between
Gouvia and
Kerkyra on the east coast of
Corfu. It's around 5km from the capital and the airport and making those journeys would usually take just 10 minutes by car.
There's a good selection of hotels, both in and around the village centre and in the wider area too. Other facilities include car hire outlets, cash machines, supermarkets and a bakery.
There's a couple of beaches in and around Kontokali, the best and most organised being associated with the Kontokali Bay hotel and spa, there is another beach but it’s not as well managed and maintained. Other beaches in the area are
Dassia beach and
Ipsos beach, both to the north.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Kontokali page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
Nightlife is minimal in Kontokali but there are a couple of bars. There’s no shortage of tavernas and restaurants to choose from though and they have a wide range of cuisines to suit all tastes.
As you can easily walk between Kontokali and Gouvia you can take in the night life of Gouvia whenever you want which makes this area a great choice.
Kontokali is a great location if you want to travel round Corfu and take in a lot of the villages, beaches or attractions as it’s close to the middle of the island so you can easily get to both the north and south.
Kontokali is also right by
Gouvia Marina that has over 1000 berths so if you enjoy watching or renting yachts/boats then this could be the perfect place for you and is walkable in around 15 minutes from the centre of the village.
The Venetian Arsenal is also in Gouvia so check that out too.
As Kontokali is so close to Kerkyra you can easily have a day trip or two to the capital and take in some of the sights over there, have a look at the
old fortress, the
new fortress and
Spianada square too.
