Roda is an old fishing village that’s grown into a family beach resort over the years. It’s located on the north coast of
Corfu close to
Acharavi and about an hours drive from the capital
Kerkyra.
The main centre of the resort is based around the beach and this is where you’ll find a lot of the restaurants which obviously means you get a lovely view along with your meal.
The beach is pretty good, it’s dark sand and offers pedalos and water sports to keep you entertained throughout the day. There’s restaurants lining the back of the beach but does occasionally suffer from seaweed.
Roda tries to cater to all types of visitors with a couple of British style bars, showing skysports as well as traditional Greek style restaurants.
There’s also a number of travel agents where you can book your boat trips around the island, many of which leave from the port in Roda itself. There’s car and scooter hire shops, cash machines, souvenir shops and supermarkets too so you definitely have everything the average tourist needs right in the village itself.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Roda page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
As Roda is now a well established tourist resort, there are plenty of good restaurants and tavernas as well as a nice selection of bars.
It’s a laid back, friendly village so don’t expect clubs although there are some bars that are open late so it’s certainly not a boring place.
You’ll also find several bars with entertainment like tribute acts, live music, Greek nights and Karaoke too.
As mentioned, Roda has a good sandy beach with water sports to keep your kids, teens and young at heart adults entertained. There’s also
Agnos beach just up the coast a little so you can easily try both and pick your favourite.
Around Roda, in the north of Corfu are some of the most popular towns and villages from
Sidari in the north west to
Avlaki and
Kassiopi in the north east so getting a car and visiting some of the other villages is a great option from Roda.
