Lourdas beach, otherwise known as Lourdata beach is one of the largest bays in
Kefalonia and stretches over 2km. Lourdas is on the south coast of the island, around 16km from the capital
Argostoli which would take just under half an hour in the car.
The beach is both sand and shingle with mostly sand at the north western end and changing to more shingle as you get to the south eastern end. The beach itself has everything you need including sun loungers and umbrellas as well as water sports and other activities making it great for kids of all ages as well as adults.
There’s a number of tavernas lining the road at the rear of the beach so you have your pick of where to go for lunch, snacks or drinks. The road along the back of the beach is also where you’ll have to park the car as there’s no dedicated car park.
Lourdas bay is backed by Mount Aenos which gives it some of the most amazing scenery of any beach in Kefalonia.
