Trapezaki beach is a narrow sand beach roughly half way between
Argostoli and
Skala on the south west coast of
Kefalonia. It’s generally quieter than the main beaches on the island but certainly not deserted.
Getting to Trapezaki beach is simple if you have a car, quad or some other means of transport as there’s a good tarmac road that leads down to a small car park, people also tend to park on the road behind the beach as well. If you try to make the journey on foot you may find it more difficult as the track is long and steep at times.
The beach has a single taverna which has toilets and serves food and drinks, the bar also plays chill out style music over the beach which creates a relaxed atmosphere. This tends to only be in the most popular summer months so in early or late summer the sunbeds and music may not be there.
Trapezaki beach is good for youngsters as the water shelves gently making it a safe place for them to play. There are no water sports but there are sun loungers and umbrellas to rent, there’s also some space available away from the taverna if you want a bit of beach to yourself. As this is a quiet beach you may sometimes find nudists at the far ends.
