Lagada is one of the beaches on the south coast and neighbours both
Paradise beach and
Markos beach. It’s often referred to as banana beach but it’s signposted as Lagada.
There’s minimal facilities on the beach itself but you can walk up to the tavernas on neighbouring beaches if you want to get a meal. There is a small beach hut where you can get drinks and there are showers and toilets available.
Lagada beach is a course sand beach with beautiful crystal clear waters, there are some sun loungers available but no water sports. We would recommend Lagada beach for families with young kids as the water stays shallow for a little way out so it’s a good safe place for them to play and the lack of crowds means you can easily keep an eye on them. Older kids might get a bit bored but they can always head down the coast to Paradise beach to take advantage of the entertainment there.
Getting to Lagada beach couldn’t be easier, it’s well signposted just off the main road that runs the length of
Kos island. There’s a basic tarmac track down to the beach which is easily passable in the islands usual hire cars or quad bikes and ends up opening out at the bottom just above the beach and this is where you can park the car.
