Tigaki is an enormous beach on the north coast of
Kos, it’s located on the edge of
Tigaki village which is one of the biggest holiday destinations on the island so this is very much a tourist beach and expect it to be busy at all times. Visiting from Kos town would take around 15 minutes as it’s just over 10km away.
On the beach you’ll find soft sand as well as all the facilities you might need. There are hundreds of sun loungers available to hire and ample space behind them to find a bit of space to yourself. There are multiple water sports vendors, shops, bars and restaurants along the rear of the beach, many of which offer table service and even have wifi that stretches down to the sun loungers.
Parking is tricky along the main road of Tigaki that heads down to the beach but there is plenty of spaces available to the rear of the beach as you head away from the town centre.
Tigaki beach is good for kids, there’s loads of room for them to play in the sand, older children can enjoy the jet skis, banana boats and other more high octane activities that are available. The only downside is that the sea does’t stay shallow for long and when the wind is blowing it can be a little choppy so just keep the weak swimmers in your group nearby.
If you’re someone that enjoys a long walk along the sea front then Tigaki beach is the perfect choice as it stretches unobstructed for miles in either direction. You could even walk past the lake and round to
Marmari Beach if you wanted, it is over 3km though.
