Psalidi is a small resort on the east coast of
Kos just south east of the capital, it’s possible to make the walk from
Kos town in about half an hour. The airport is around 28km away so will take over 30 mins to drive in a car or slightly longer if you get the bus.
Psalidi is a fairly modern region and home to some of the best hotels on the island, this includes huge 5* hotels, suites, apartment complexes and general up market places to stay.
The area is perfect for families as there’s a pleasant and safe beach (
Psalidi beach), a small number of restaurants and bars as well as supermarkets, souvenir shops and vehicle hire shops so everything you need for a family holiday right on the doorstep.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Psalidi page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
Nightlife in Psalidi is pretty minimal, there's a few tavernas and bars down by the beach and around the village but that's about it.
The hotels will often lay on entertainment but the real perk of Psalidi is that it's so close to Kos town meaning you can visit for a night out or even make the trip every night if you want.
In general, Psalidi will be best suited to those wanting a quieter break or those happy to stay in and around the hotel but with the option of heading to Kos Town if the mood strikes.
To keep everyone in your party entertained there’s a mini golf course and a scuba diving school as well as windsurfing and kitesurfing on the beach.
Not far from Psalidi, on the south coast are the hot springs of
Thermes beach so if you fancy taking in the spa like benefits on offer then Psalidi is a good place to start from. The trip will take about 15 minutes in the car.
As mentioned, you can easily get to Kos Town and there's a ton of stuff to do there with historical sites, museums and much much more. Check out the
Kos sight seeing guide for more info.
