Lachania is a small village in the south of
Rhodes close to the east coast. It's over 70km from the islands capital
Rhodes Town which is well over an hours drive.
Transfers from Rhodes airport to Lachania will be at least an hour and a half but probably closer to two hours as there will likely be drop offs in other villages before reaching Lachania. It's recommended to get a private transfer if you can as that'll be significantly quicker.
As Lachania is such a small village it's understandable that there's not much in terms of amenities. There's a supermarket and a handful of tavernas but no ATM, no vehicle hire shops or any other tourist focused facilities. There's not even any large hotels but if you want to stay here there are villas available to rent.
The main bulk of Lachania village is around 2.5km from the beach which is a 5 minute drive or half an hours walk. Down by the coast there's a few hotels, villas and a beach front taverna too. The beach is mainly coarse sand with some loungers available to hire.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Lachania page of booking.com
here.
Lachania night life is minimal, you can get a meal and a drink or two in the tavernas but you wont find any karaoke, late night music or other entertainment.
It's not even that close to other villages to get entertainment there so Lachania will probably appeal most to those that like a bit of peace and quiet away from the tourist crowds.
There's not a lot of tourism in the south of Rhodes island so if you want to visit historical sites, beaches, museums or other attractions then you'll be best off hiring a car to drive around.
