White beach, which is Aspri Paralia in Greek is a tiny beach on the south coast of
Santorini. It's around 15km from the islands capital
Fira but it's not possible to get to by car.
The name comes from the white pebbles that cover parts of the beach and the white cliffs that surround it. The cliffs give you an isolated feel, coupled with the fact that White beach is only accessible by boat, makes this little stretch of coast a must see for a lot of people that visit Santorini.
White beach is tiny at just 60m from end to end and a little over 10m deep at it's widest point. It's covered in sun loungers and can often be quite crowded as there's multiple boat trips to the beach throughout the day so don’t expect to have the place to yourself, in fact it'll probably be quite crowded.
To get to White beach you'll need to get on a boat. There's a number of boat trips that offer days out around the island, most of these trips will stop at White beach and probably
Red beach too. Alternatively if you just want to go to White beach then you can get the boat from the jetty on nearby
Akrotiri beach. It's worth noting that the boats don't get all the way to the shore and there's no jetty so don't wear your best shoes as you're going to get wet getting off the boat.
There's no taverna on White beach so you'll want to bring your own snacks and drinks with you if you plan to stay for the day. You won't find water sports here either so take some beach games or snorkelling gear with you to keep restless people entertained whilst on the beach.
