Ligaries beach lies on the north coast of
Skiathos, just east of
Mikros Aselinos beach and roughly 20 minutes drive from the capital
Skiathos Town.
Getting to the beach can be a bit of a challenge, there’s a dirt road that leads to the beach, it’s passable in one of the islands rental jeeps or quad bikes but could be a bit of a challenge for the basic hire cars that you usually get from the local car rental shops. Parking is available at the rear of the beach and rarely fills up.
Once on the beach you’ll find a taverna set back away from the coast where you can get food and drinks and use the facilities. There’s also a couple of rows of sun loungers around the middle of the beach but still plenty of room to lay a towel out and have a bit of room to yourself.
The beach is made up of mainly sand but with stones around the entrance to the sea. It’s surrounded by lush green hillside that’s covered in trees making it a tranquil and picturesque place to relax for a few hours.
Ligaries beach isn’t great for kids, mainly due to the stones on the sea bed that stops them from playing in the shallows as well as the lack of facilities meaning older kids might get bored.
