Mandraki Xerxes beach which is also known as Xerxes beach, Xerxes Mandraki beach or simply Mandraki beach is located on the north coast of
Skiathos. it’s roughly 14km from the capital,
Skiathos Town and that would take around half an hour to drive.
If arriving by car or quad you’ll find a small amount of parking at the rear of the beach, if that’s full then there are some roadside spaces available close to the beach. Another way to get to Mandraki beach is to jump on the bus and get off at stop 23 or 24, from there head north on the sandy path through the trees for about 1.6km.
Mandraki Xerxes is a sandy beach with a taverna for food and refreshments as well as sun loungers with thatched umbrellas available to hire. There are no water sports and the beach is normally fairly quiet. Due to the quiet and secluded nature of the beach you may find that it is visited by nudists, they tend to stick to the far end of the beach away from the taverna.
Mandraki beach is surrounded by pine forests which is nice to get out of the sun or take a walk through, it also has a sandstone cliff that provides shelter from the wind making the sea calm and inviting.
There are no water sports on Mandraki Xerxes beach so don’t come here with teens expecting to keep them entertained with thrill rides. This beach is meant for those that want a bit of peace and quiet not excitement. It is still great for families though as the amount of space available means there’s plenty of room for kids to play without them getting lost in the crowds.
