Mikros Aselinos or Small Aselinos is a petite sandy beach right next to the larger
Megalos Aselinos beach on the north coast of
Skiathos. To get there you’ll need a car, quad or a taxi, otherwise it’s an hours walk from bus stop 18.
The beach is small with a few sun loungers to hire and one wooden shack style taverna for snacks and refreshments, outside the taverna there are quirky sculptures made from driftwood which adds a little interest to the place.
Mikros Aselinos isn’t great for kids, the elderly or those with walking difficulties as you have to park the car on the roadside at the top of the hill and it’s a bit of a steep and tricky walk down to the beach. You also wont find any water sports to keep older kids entertained either.
One thing to note is that on windy days the sea can get quite rough on the north coast making swimming difficult, it can also blow the sand around if it’s really strong so it’s worth checking the wind conditions before making the trip just in case.
Mikros Aselinos is ideal for those that want to get away from the crowds of the larger more tourist heavy beaches that you find on the south coast of the island.
