Troulos beach is situated on the south coast of Skiathos
island in Greece’s Sporades island group. Troulos is around 10 km from Skiathos town
, the islands capital. That’ll take you roughly 20 minutes in the car and there’s parking available behind the hotel when you arrive. Another option for getting to Troulos beach is to get the bus and jump off at stop 20, from there the beach is just 2 or 3 minute walk away.
Troulos beach has soft golden sand and is well organised with several tavernas for food and drinks. There’s a large hotel right on the beach who allow people to use their bar, toilets and swimming pool which can make for a nice change from swimming in the sea. If you prefer book yourself a room and roll straight out of bed and on to the sand.
There are ample sun beds available to hire as well as some space to lay out a towel. Troulos beach has some rock formations around the edges and the sand slopes quite steeply into the sea so it’s not perfect for young kids but as long as they are well supervised it’s fine.
Troulos beach has a great water sports vendor to keep teenagers and grown ups busy. There are ringos, banana boats, water sofas, jet skis and wake surfing as well as others. There really is a superb selection to keep you entertained all day long. Alternatively you can hire a boat or pedalo and explore the area.
village is quite a popular destination the beach does get busy, there’s also boat day trips that stop here so it’ll feel busy when one of those arrives and drops lots of people off at once. Just remember to arrive early if you want a premium spot or sun lounger.
