Agia Paraskevi, also known as Platanias is similar to
Achladies in that it’s a fairly small resort with a picturesque bay and a lovely beach. It’s located towards the south of
Skiathos island at bus stop 16, just west of the kalamaki peninsular and around 7.5km from the capital
Skiathos Town.
Agia Paraskevi is larger than Achladies and has a handful of tavernas, most of which are attached to the hotels but welcome anyone for food and drink.
There’s also a good selection of hotels including some large package holiday style hotels as well as some smaller family run establishments, there's a supermarket for supplies and souvenir fridge magnets and other bits.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Agia Paraskevi page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
There’s no late night bars or clubs in Agia Paraskevi, it’s more of a place to relax with a quiet evening meal than the sort of place you’d go to for a party.
If you want a more lively night out then heading up to Skiathos town is simple. You can get the local bus which runs regularly and takes about 15 minutes. Unlike some of the other resorts in the area there’s no water taxi from Agia Paraskevi.
There's a couple of beaches within walking distance,
Agia Paraskevi Beach and
Kolios Beach, both of which are well worth spending a few hours relaxing on.
Just south of Agia Paraskevi is the town of
Troulos, it's a similar relaxed style resort but with a few more tavernas, there's also a great beach in Troulos and if you want to know more about that then head over to our
Troulos beach page.
