Agios Vasilios beach is found on the north coast of
Thassos island, it’s just west of the main port in
Limenas so easily in walking distance if you’re staying in the islands capital.
The beach takes it’s name from the small chapel that sits just behind. Agios Vasilios beach is actually a continuation of
Tarsanas beach so you could visit both at the same time if you wanted to.
Vasilios is a rugged stretch of coast line with sand, shingle and mainly pebbles under foot. It’s narrow with a shallow entrance to the sea. It’s probably not great for families as there’s not much sand for the kids to play in and the lack of water sports or music would mean older kids would get bored too.
There’s minimal facilities at Agios Vasilios beach, no tavernas on the beach and just a couple of hotels behind the beach so getting supplies means walking back in to town a bit. There’s a small amount of parking at the rear of the beach in amongst the trees that line the back of the beach.
