Livadi is a small quiet and calm beach on the south coast of
Thassos, it’s around 40km from the capital
Thassos Town, which is about an hours drive. It’s also close to
Giola so visiting both in one day is definitely an option.
The beach itself is mainly coarse sand with stones mixed in, there’s also some rocks around the cliffs at the ends and some larger stones at the rear of the beach. Livadi beach is just 20m deep and around 200m wide, and considering how few people visit it feels quite different to the more popular tourist beaches.
Food and drink is usually available as well as sunbeds and umbrellas but not always, sometimes the beach is completely empty. There’s no water sports or other entertainment on the beach so it’s probably not ideal for those with teenagers to keep entertained. It is however perfect for people who simply want to relax in the sun and enjoy the beautiful Greek coast.
Getting to Livadi beach isn’t too tricky but there’s no signposts where you leave the main road so probably worth familiarising yourself with the road via the map below so that you don’t miss it. Once you arrive there’s ample parking at the rear of the beach amongst the trees.
Also in the area is
Arsanas beach, it’s more organised but smaller and is serviced by the same road so very easy to stop at both and pick your favourite or swap half way through the day.
