Skala Sotiros is on the west coast of
Thassos, roughly 20km away from both the capital
Limenas and the second largest town
Limenaria.
The beach is at the southern end of the harbour and is a kind of triangle shape, it’s around 50m from front to back at the harbour end and tapers off to nothing at the other end. It’s about 140m long so it’s not huge but given that it’s on the edge of a relatively quiet village it doesn’t get that busy.
Skala Sotiros beach is mainly sandy but there is some shingle in places, particularly around the entrance to the water. There are sunbeds and umbrellas to rent throughout most of the tourist season and the entrance to the sea is fairly shallow so it’s a good choice for young families. You wont find water sports though so thrill seekers may get bored.
At the rear of the beach there's a couple of tavernas that are the perfect spot for a nice lunch or to simply get a cold drink.
Getting to Skala Sotiros beach is simple as the village is based around the main coastal road and the harbour is the focal point of the village so easy to find. With the beach being on the edge of the resort there's plenty of parking available in the area.
