Astrida, sometimes also known as Astris is an area of unspoiled natural beauty with gently sloping hills and rocky scenery nestled among olive groves towards the south of
Thassos island. It would take you about an hour to make the drive from the capital
Limenas as it’s over 40km away.
Don’t expect to find loads of hotels, tavernas shops or other tourist facilities in Astrida, there’s one or two places to stay around the village and one taverna, that’s it. If you’re looking for a relaxing break away from the busy towns then Astrida may be for you, either way it’s a lovely place to spend an afternoon having a look around.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Astrida page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
As you can probably guess, Astrida isn't party central, it's a spread out village with minimal facilities so if you're looking for somewhere to enjoy a quiet night then it could be perfect but if you want a variety of places to go or late night bars then it's not for you.
Although Astrida is in land there are a number of beaches nearby that are ideal for relaxing and never get over populated. Take a look at
Astris Beach, Astrida Beach,
Psili Ammos beach and
Salonikios Beach too.
Also in the area is
Giola which is a natural rock pool found just 6 km and a short walk to the east.
