Kinira is a small, charming village on the east coast of
Thassos. It’s roughly 20km from
Limenas the islands capital and that would take around half an hour to drive.
Although Kinira is in a quiet region that people visit for it’s natural beauty and tranquillity, it still has everything the tourist needs including supermarkets, tavernas, restaurants, a good selection of hotels and apartments and of course a friendly welcome from the locals.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Kinira page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
There's a handful of tavernas in Kinira, most of which have a traditional feel to them and some offer great views out to the little island called Nisida Kinira that's just off the coast.
If you want a nice meal and a few drinks of an evening then Kinira is perfect, just don’t expect lively night life or anything like that.
If you have a vehicle then Kinira is a great location for exploring the island, you can easily get to the best beaches on the east coast as well as heading north to Limenas or south west to
Limenaria. The only long trip you’d have is if you wanted to visit the villages and beaches on the west coast.
There is a beach at Kinira that’s usually fairly quiet, it’s mainly pebbles, fairly small and not organised, to learn more about it go to our
Kinira Beach page.
