Potos is a popular tourist destination on the south coast of Thassos, it’s not too far from Limenaria, around a 5 minute drive but it’s a long 50 minutes from the islands capital and main port Limenas.

Potos has a lovely long sand beach with all the facilities you need for a day out in the sunshine. There’s multiple tavernas, shops, watersports and lots more. To find out more about the beach go to our Potos beach page.

The town itself has narrow streets lined with bars, restaurants and shops. Many of the streets are too narrow for cars making it a good place for young families.

There’s plenty of hotels available in Potos, around the beach are the smaller apartments to rent and on the outskirts of the town are the larger hotels with pools. There’s dozens of restaurants  in the town with options to suit all tastes.

There’s also supermarkets, vehicle rental shops, ATMs, boat tours available from the harbour area and even a scuba diving centre for those that want to take a closer look at the sea life of the area.

Potos has everything you need within walking distance of the beach and hotels so if you just want a package holiday with a wealth of amenities and a good beach then this is a great choice.

Nightlife in Potos revolves around the water front. This is where you'll find some of the best bars and restaurants although there are establishments in the rest of the town too.

It's not what you'd call lively but there's a good atmosphere and plenty of options from traditional restaurants to upmarket cocktail bars and everything in between. Unless your a real party animal, you should be able to find something to suit your tastes in Potos after the sun goes down.

With Potos being close to Limenaria on the south coast you can easily visit the islands second largest town and have a look round.
