Agios Sostis beach is located just 2km from
Laganas on the south coast and around 10km from the islands capital
Zakynthos Town.
There are actually two sections to Agios Sostis beach separated by Sostis port. The section south west of the port is long and narrow, it stretches for over 500m but is just 10m deep in places. The other is to the north west of the port, it’s also around half a kilometre long but much deeper, particularly at the port end where it’s up to 50m deep. Although large parts of the port end are used as parking so it’s not all usable.
Both beaches have sand under foot, sun loungers to hire and tavernas at the rear for food and drink throughout the day. There’s pedalos and boats available to rent on both so you can explore the coast line at your own leisure.
The beaches are popular without being overly crowded. They’re a welcome break from the most tourist heavy beaches and get busier around the tavernas whilst staying quiet and tranquil in other areas.
The sand slopes slowly into the water making it a lovely place for children to play safely in the water or on the sand.
There’s loads of parking at the port as well as parking around the tavernas and streets at the rear of the beach.
Also in the area is
Cameo Island, it’s just 100m off the coast, right next to the port. There’s a small wooden bridge that takes you from the port to the island where you can have a look around or visit the islands beach, there is a small charge to go on to the island.
