Tsilivi Beach is on the north east coast of
Zakynthos (Zante) and just 7 kilometres from the islands capital
Zakynthos Town. As the village is also known as Planos, so is the beach. Some people refer to the whole beach as Planos beach whilst others simply call the north western end the Planos end. Either way, the names Tsilivi beach and Planos beach are interchangeable.
Tsilivi is one of the more popular tourist destinations in Zakynthos, it’s popular with families and couples and this means the beach is busy at all times of the day. Luckily Tsilivi beach stretches for over a kilometre and is around 50 metres wide in places so there’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.
This sandy beach is a regular recipient of the international Blue Flag award for its cleanliness. Kids can happily splash in the clear, shallow waters or play in the sand.
There’s several tavernas along the rear of the beach and around these is generally where you find the sun loungers available to hire. These sections may be too tightly packed for some peoples tastes but perfectly acceptable for others, if you want a premium front row lounger then make sure you arrive early.
To keep you entertained throughout the day there’s a couple of water sports vendors, with pedalos, banana boats, jetskis, paragliding and other rides. There’s also music playing from the beach side bars so steak out a spot around them if you want to enjoy the music whilst sunbathing.
You can also find quieter areas on the fringe of the beach if you prefer not to have the peace and quiet interrupted by the music and busy crowds.
If you’re arriving from outside of the town then there’s some parking available where the roads down to the beach meet the beach. Alternatively you can park on the side of these roads too.
