Agios Sostis is a peaceful resort on the south east coast of
Zakynthos between the more lively
Laganas and the stunning
Keri. It’s a little over 10km from the capital
Zakynthos Town which would be around a 20 minute drive.
This attractive village is spread around Sostis port and Agios Sostis beach, there’s a good selection of hotels around the area as well as some restaurants, bars and shops. Most of which are down by the beach but some are in land too.
The beach is long and skinny, it has a link to
Cameo Island and views of
Marathonisi Island too. Water sports aren’t available here to protect the wildlife. If you want to know more about the beach then go to our
Agios Sostis beach page.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Agios Sostis page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
The night life is minimal, it’s the sort of place where you sit around watching people go about their business and sip a few beers or glasses of wine before walking back to your hotel rather than somewhere to go out on the town.
If you ask around, you may find a restaurant that has a Greek night with dancing and live music, if you want a late night drink you can probably find the odd place staying open if there's enough people in there but clubs are out of the question.
The water taxi to Marathonisi, AKA “Turtle Island” is a lovely option from Agios Sostis and if you’re lucky you might get to see the Loggerhead turtles that breed in the area, definitely worth taking your snorkel just in case.
Also, with Agios Sostis being so close to Laganas it gives you the option for a day or night out to this much more lively town, it's not to everyones tastes though.
