Kalithea is a popular package holiday resort between
Rhodes town and
Faliraki up in the north east corner of
Rhodes island.
Transfer times from Rhodes airport to Kalithea will be about half an hour, it could be a little more if there are lots of other drop offs before you.
There's no real village to Kalithea, it's more just a collection of large, all-inclusive style hotels sprawled out over a vast area. There's a few tavernas, supermarkets and car hire shops dotted around but no village square or any focal point like that.
Kalithea will be a good choice for those that simply want to stay in and around their hotel with a good beach nearby and perhaps take a day trip to Rhodes Town or Faliraki.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Kalithea page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
The nightlife in Kalithea is largely based around what entertainment is in your hotel, some of which offer live music, Greek nights with dancing and kids clubs too so be sure to check what's on offer at the hotel you plan to stay at.
As mentioned, there's a few tavernas around where you can get a nice meal and enjoy a cocktail or two but if you want a proper night out you'll be better off taking the short trip to Faliraki or Rhodes Town as there's much more on offer at either.
A visit to the Kalithea springs is a must whilst in the area. It's a beautiful region on the coast with several restored buildings, a fountain, beach, restaurant and gardens. On top of all that the views are stunning so it really is a great to spend the day.
If there's a group of you, then there's an unusual option just inland from Kalithea and that's Battleground paintball so if you fancy shooting one of your friends or family members then this could be a fun option for you.
As mentioned, Kallithea is close to Faliraki so you can enjoy everything on offer there, from a day at the water park to a party boat, mini golf to fantastic night life, Faliraki has loads to offer.
