Lindos is a gorgeous village midway down the south east coast of
Rhodes. It’s just under 50km from the islands capital
Rhodes Town which would usually take around 45 minutes to drive.
Transfer times from Rhodes airport to Lindos will be a minimum of an hour but probably more like an hour and a half as it’s over 50km away.
The village itself is a maze of narrow cobbled streets, shops selling locally produced goods like lace and embroidery as well as honey and olives.
Accommodation in Lindos consists of small boutique style hotels in the village itself and larger hotels with pools just outside in an area known as Lindos view.
If you need a cash machine whilst in Lindos then there’s a couple available, there’s no car hire outlets, no great surprise there as the village is pedestrianised but there are a couple of rent-a-car places just outside the main village.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Lindos page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here or Jet2
hereThe nightlife in Lindos has more to offer than many people expect, you might think that it’s going to be quite tame as it’s a traditional village and while a quiet night out is definitely possible there’s actually some good bars and even some clubs just outside the main village.
Most people will probably just want to have a meal and a few drinks at one of the street side restaurants and watch the village life play out in front of them. There’s not many better places for people watching than Lindos.
The obvious place to visit is the
Acropolis of Lindos, it’s right above the town so is accessible with a short, if a little challenging, uphill walk.
Beach lovers will be happy as there’s a number of beaches in the area, there’s Lindos beach and Pallas beach just to the north of the village as well as St Pauls bay to the south with a beach at either end of the bay so you have plenty to chose from.
