Kalathos is a small village on the east coast of
Rhodes, it's just 6km from
Lindos and around 40km from the capital
Rhodes Town.
Transfer times from the airport to Kalathos will be approximately an hour to an hour and a half depending on if you're the first of last drop off.
Kalathos doesn't have a focal point or village centre. Most of the restaurants and shops are found either at the side of the main coastal road that cuts through the village or down by the beach.
There isn't a huge amount to see or do in Kalathos but that's part of the appeal. There's a small collection of hotels and villas available to rent and a huge coarse sand and stone beach with sun loungers, umbrellas and beach side bars for refreshments. The beach is around 1 kilometre from the main road which is about a 10 minute walk.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Kalathos page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here or Jet2
here.
Night life in Kalathos is minimal, there's a few nice bars with relaxed atmospheres and delicious cocktails but don't expect to find night clubs, Karaoke or any other entertainment like that.
If you want a more lively night out then you can pop down to Lindos where there's plenty of late night bars and even clubs too.
As Kalathos is so close to Lindos it gives you the option to head south and have a walk through the winding streets of Lindos as well as popping up to the
Acropolis of Lindos above.
