Marmari beach is at the edge of
Marmari town in
Kos, it’s roughly in the middle of the north coast which makes it just under half an hour from the islands capital
Kos Town.
The beach at Marmari is huge, it's over 3km long and more than 80m wide at it's widest point. The town is a hot spot for visitors and holiday makers so you’ll find the beach gets fairly busy every day throughout the summer months but as it’s such a vast beach it doesn’t feel over crowded and you can often find a bit of space to yourself if that’s what you want.
Marmari beach is sandy and has all the amenities you could need including sunbeds to hire, water sports like wind surfing, kite surfing, kayaks and thrill rides like banana boats to keep you entertained throughout the day. There's both toilets and showers available. There's a number of tavernas, restaurants, shops and bars at the rear of the beach so you really do have everything you could possibly want right there at your fingertips.
Marmari beach is good for all the family, the only thing to be aware of is that this part of the island often has strong winds, there are wind breaks available but it does mean the sea can be a little choppy at times so you’ll need to keep a close eye on the weaker swimmers in your group.
Getting to Marmari beach is simple as you just head to Marmari which is well signposted and then go straight down the main street which takes you to the beach. Parking is usually pretty easy as there's loads of spaces around the town and some dedicated parking areas around the rear of the beach.
