Aspri Petra, otherwise known as the white stone cave is found on mount Zini right down in the south of
Kos island close to
Kefalos. As it’s the other end of the island it’s an hours drive from the capital
Kos Town.
It’s not possible to drive all the way to Aspri Petra so you’ll have to leave the car at the end of the main road and walk the rest of the way, luckily there’s a car parking area just off the main track and a small blue sign pointing you where to go.
The walk up the hill is a little challenging but should be passable by most people, shoes are preferable to flip flops and take refreshments too as there’s nothing past this point and it can be very hot particularly around mid day in the height of summer.
When walking up the hill you’ll be aiming for the small stone archway that you can see in the image above and the actual cave is just next to the archway.
Once there you’ll see a small entrance to the cave and some stones that you’ll have to climb over, getting into the cave can be a little tricky and there’s not much to see inside but the views from here are fantastic so making the trip is well worth it.
