Gennadi is a long beach towards the southern end of the east coast of
Rhodes. It's on the edge of
Gennadi village which is a quiet and relaxed village so the beach has a similar feel.
It's over 60km from the islands capital
Rhodes Town and that's about an hours drive. It's around 20 minutes from both
Lindos and
Pefkos so you can easily visit from either.
Gennadi merges into
Kiotari Beach in the north and the full stretch of coast is over 12km so if you like walking along the beach this could be a great option.
The beach itself is made up of small stones and course sand so wont be to everyone's taste. It does have crystal clear waters that everyone will love.
Gennadi beach isn't ideal for young families due to the stones and the fact that it gets deep within a few metres of the shore so you have to keep an eye on non-swimmers when paddling and playing in the water.
There's a few tavernas along the beach for your snacks and drinks and if you're staying at one of the large 5 star resort hotels on the beach then they both have their own section of sun loungers and water sports too. If you're interested in these hotels take a look at Atlantica Dreams Resort and Gennadi Grand Resort in the hotel list below.
If visiting from elsewhere on the island then you'll find plenty of space to park the car around the hotels and the roads that lead down to the beach as well as along the road that runs alongside the beach in places.
