The little church of Pantokrator is located at the top of mount Pantokrator which is the highest point on the island of
Corfu. You’ll find it towards the north east of the island around 30km from
Kerkyra which is about an hours drive.
The church is very small with just a couple of seats and the smell of burning incense. There’s a café and a small souvenir shop too up there as you might expect the views from up there are second to none, on a clear day you can see the whole of Corfu and even over to mainland Greece and Albania too.
Unfortunately the site is let down by an enormous communication mast that’s been erected right over the top of the fresh water well. It’s still worth a visit but you’ll have to be clever with your photography angles to get the best shots.
Pantokrator church is easily accessible from most of the towns and villages in the north east. If arriving by car there’s parking available at the roadside and there’s also a small café for refreshments too.
