Glikadi is a quiet sandy beach on the north coast of
Thassos, just 4km from
Limenas the islands capital yet somehow still not crowded or ruined by mass tourism.
The rustic beach consists of soft, fine sand, a shallow entrance to the sea and some rocks around the edges. There’s no sunbeds, no taverna and definitely no music or water sports. It’s great for kids as they can play in the sand or paddle in the shallow waters. The only things to watch out for is the strips of stones around the entrance to the sea as these can be uncomfortable, there are also sea urchins in the area so best to wear
water shoes.
Another bonus to Glikadi beach is that you get to enjoy views of Thassopoula Island and the mainland in the distance.
Glikadi beach is fairly easy to find as it’s just off the main coastal road but there’s no signpost for the beach so it’s easily missed. Once you arrive you’ll find a small car park that never really fills up.
