Tarsanas is a small beach on the north coast of
Thassos, it’s located on the western edge of
Limenas the islands capital and if you’re staying in the capital you can walk it in around 15 minutes.
Once at Tarsanas beach you’ll find an upmarket looking beach bar that plays chill out music and has luxury wooden loungers and seats as well as other comfortable cushions, bean bags and hammocks. This is all on the grassed area at the rear of the beach. The bar at Tarsanas serves food and drink including cocktails and offers table service too.
Once you head down to the beach itself you’ll be greeted by more sun loungers, soft sand and gorgeous clear water which slopes so gently that kids will love to splash about in the shallow waters. Just be aware that there are some stones and larger rocks in places so keep an eye on youngsters.
There’s no water sports on Tarsanas beach and getting away from the crowds to play beach sports is unlikely too, particularly in the height of summer so if you’re looking for somewhere to stretch out and enjoy the sand then Tarsanas beach may not be the best choice.
Parking at Tarsanas is not easy as there’s minimal space at the beach itself, the other options are to leave the car at the roadside or in Limenas and walk the rest of the way. Finding the beach is easy as there’s a large sign at the roadside so you shouldn’t miss it.
