Argassi beach is located on the east coast of
Zakynthos (Zante), it’s just 2km south of the capital
Zakynthos town and just north of the Vasilikos peninsular.
Argassi beach is mainly sand with pebbles in some areas, it’s a narrow beach separated into a few sections by rock formations. These create a plethora of rock pools and coves for you to explore. The clear, impossibly blue seas are shallow and safe for children to play in.
There’s also the remains of an old bridge that dates back to 1805, today it’s ruined and just three arches are left. You can’t go on the bridge but it makes a good backdrop for photos.
At the rear of the beach are a number of tavernas and hotels where you can get some food and refreshments. There’s also a few sunbeds available to hire and water sports to keep you entertained too, there’s truly something for everyone at Argassi beach.
Argassi is popular with those staying in the resort of the same name and is generally popular but not crowded. If you’re travelling to Argassi beach then there’s parking spots in the streets around the beach but no dedicated car park. There are showers on the beach and toilets in the various tavernas at the rear of the beach.
