Kaminia beach, also known as Porto Kaminia beach is on the north coast of the Vasilikos peninsula, down in the south east of
Zakynthos (Zante) island. It’s just under 10km from the capital
Zakynthos Town which would take about 20 minutes to drive.
At under 200m long and just 15m at it’s widest, Kaminia is a small but well organised beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available both on the beach and on the grass verge behind the beach, these are given free to anyone buying food and drink from the taverna and their small, but traditional menus are sure to please so it’s a win win.
The mainly sandy beach has no water sports or other entertainment but that’s part of the appeal. You come to Kaminia beach to relax and unwind in the Greek sunshine, if you want more entertainment take a look at
Banana beach which is just along the coast.
There’s a couple of hotels with apartments and studios to rent right at the back of the beach and these are ideal for those looking for a holiday away from the crowds but with easy access to the main sights of the south east of the island.
Arriving from further afield is straight forward, there’s a good road leading down to the apartment complex and this is where you’ll find some parking available.
