St Nicholas beach, sometimes also known as Agios Nikolaos beach is on the east coast of the Vasilikos peninsular down in the south east corner of
Zakynthos (Zante) island. It’s just under 15km from the capital
Zakynthos Town and that would usually be about a 25 minute drive.
The beach is around 250m long and up to 50m at it’s widest. It’s largely covered in sun loungers with just a small section at the northern end left clear. It’s a popular option for both holiday makers and locals too. There’s a couple of tavernas and they’re quite trendy with beautiful seating areas and atmosphere.
There’s sand under foot and coupled with the shallow entrance to the sea makes St Nicholas perfect for those with youngsters to keep entertained. On top of that there’s a tremendous water sports centre, which offers countless maritime activities including ringos, banana boats, water skiing, canoes, pedalos, paragliding and jet skis. You can also catch a couple diving lessons and take a guided tour to the nearby Keri Caves or strike up a match on the beach volleyball court.
There’s a small church called
Agios Nikolaos Church that overlooks the northern end of the beach which is a lovely place for a wander round.
St Nicholas beach has some parking available at the rear of the beach, there’s roadside parking available too.
