Volimes is a small village found up in the northern mountains on
Zakynthos Island. 30 kilometers northwest of
Zakynthos town.
This town is brimming with pine forests, olive groves, local farms, and vineyards, not to mention loads of traditional architecture and extremely authentic restaurants.
Although the village itself is pretty small the surrounding areas are often seen part of the village so it could be considered to expand quite far east and west.
A great option in Volimes is to spend an afternoon shopping for locally made wares like leather goods, ceramics, honey and cheese. You’ll find shops and stalls selling all this and more.
This remote village doesn’t offer much in the way of hotels, but some villas are available to rent in the area.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Volimes page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
Nightlife in Volimes is minimal, there’s no late night bars and only a handful of restaurants. You don’t come to Volimes for the night life, you come for the traditional Greek charm so spend some time in an authentic restaurant and maybe a stroll through the village.
From Volimes you can visit the sulphur beach on the east coast called
Xigia beach, there’s also
Makris Gialos beach, and
Agios Nikolaos beach that are not too far away.
Also local to Volimes are a couple of monasteries, namely the
Monastery of Agios Georgios Krimnon and the
Monastery of Anafonitria.
You’re also close to the Blue Caves and Shipwreck Beach so there’s plenty to see in the area.
