Cameo Island is a tiny little island off the south coast of
Zakynthos. Getting to it is simple as its just over 10km from the islands capital
Zakynthos Town which would take about 20 minutes to drive on a normal day.
Cameo island is just 100m east to west and around 60m from north to south. Due to it’s small size there’s not a great deal to see or do on the island. There is a small beach as well as a taverna with great views back over the Zakynthos coastline.
There is a small 5€ charge to gain access to the island, it’s probably worth it if you’re going to spend a bit of time on the island but if you just wander over the bridge, take a look around and head back it might seem expensive. You do get a key ring with your photo on so it’s not a complete waste.
Sometimes the island hosts weddings and other events and that can mean that the beach is closed to the public, definitely worth checking before handing over your 5€.
